Teemu Laajasalo serves as the Lutheran Bishop of Helsinki for the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland. Elected to the position on August 16, 2017, he succeeded Irja Askola and was officially installed on November 12, 2017. Born on July 10, 1974, in Helsinki, Finland, he earned a Master of Theology (1997) and a Doctor of Education (2001) from the University of Helsinki.
